While we're on the subject. The light is out on the openometer gauge. At start up it flashes a few bars and goes off. The needle counter is working. Is it a quick fix or live with it. Thanks, Frank

The lights count up 6 hours then at the end of the 7th they reset. They only show up if the top is down.

I have read that it is standard on these models, but my 2013 has a manufacture date of Sept 2012 - I have scrolled through the options on my turn signal, and they are no different than what I had on my Countryman (obviously I don't have the gauge, but thought I would have the digital readout).

Any thoughts?
I get the total reading + the reading since last reset on the gauge when scrolling through the display info option. Maybe the computer option is set when the gauge is installed? that's a shame if you don't have it. Perhaps your MINI dealer nearby can programme it and make you some favor... and I do hope it is not directly linked to the gauge itself...

The light crapped out. Gone with the top down.

So the light goes out after you put the top down?

I just tell folks that I'm health conscious and my OEM "UV Radiation Exposure Meter" helps remind me when I need to be thinking about sunscreen.
Where did those Gil-galad pictures go? Did you change the gauges again??

Don't worry about it so much. Personally I don't mind the "openometer".
Sure it may seem a little gadgety but it's also kind of unique in its own right, and if I had more time to get into it I'd be paying more attention to it. My 2ç for the little its worth
How old are you? Do you honestly feel that the openometer provides useful I formation as opposed to ... O, I dont know, an oil pressure gauge, a turbo boost gauge, an oil temp gauge, even a freaking clock for that matter. The person who even suggested it at Mini should be demoted and person who implemented it should be fired. Maybe the next model year will come with eyelashes standard, or a meter that tells you how many times you listed to a NKOTB while driving your purified mini.
