Got the upper grille on. Sorry about the poor picture, but it's raining cats and dogs here this weekend so I'm stuck inside.

I'll fit the lower portion after the clear bra, which is after the paint, which is after the de-striping so this will have to wait a weekend or two.

Very happy with it. Looks even better in the flesh, the mesh has more of a lustre than a shine, and looks great.

I guess I'll wait for the more professional, not trapped in the garage pics from you. I like the way it looks.

Sits on top of the original grille with four alignment clips top and bottom, and screws at the two ends (I used stainless nuts and bolts instead of the black screws supplied).

The lower part is similar, except there are four screws in the corners.

That's an easy fix. Get some NevrDull, buff the tips with it, and you'll forget chrome tips exist

Well, it's all done. I decided against doing the clear bra this time. When I started Dr. Color Chip-ing the damage, I realized that I wouldn't be happy with it, and I'd end up pulling it off and painting the bumper and hood/bonnet anyway, so I'll be touching up until finances allow for a respray. I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Nice work spiney. Looking great! I really like how the mirror caps tie the headlights, scoop, and grill work together. And de-striping was an extremely good call design-wise.

The UJ flying from the house is a nice touch. Don't forget to roll up the garden hose and put away that wash bucket.

I just read through the entire thread and followed the photos. I have a '14 Coupe and have been kicking around some thoughts on cosmetic mods but always on the look-out for ideas. I had mixed feelings about how the blue roadster would look during the process; however, wow, it looks great! I wondered if the mesh grill look would "down grade" the overall look; however, it really works well on the car. Love the way car looks without the stripes. The chrome takes over and stripes would just get in the way of the chrome look. I like chrome on a car. The chrome scoop, even though we all know it is a dummy scoop, really adds to the sports car aggressive look. It truly looks like a throw back to the sports cars of old. Congrats on the new look!!

Nice, looks different with the factory rear splash guards and the GP2 diffuser. If someone painted those and the wheel arches and they were not flexable. It would make the MINI rear end look low and wide.

The R59 is coming together really nice. Now for some top down weather.

ECS folks, thanks for all your help with this project. I ended up getting almost everything from you guys except the mesh grilles and front flaps (GP2 diffuser, chrome trunk lid handle, chrome scoop and heatshield, rear flaps). Your help here and in PMs has been exceptional. Highly recommended!

You are welcome, glad we could help. I like the evolution of your MINI.

Looking at that angle above, makes the stance look wide. Need a before and after.

It looks fantastic, spiney. Removing the viper stripes made such a difference.

Well, I think that about wraps it up cosmetically. Thanks to everyone for their comments, ideas, support and help.

Now it's time to wait for things to wear out so I can replace them with cool stuff!

Oh dear....

One more tiny cosmetic thing. I didn't even realize you could get these:

They shouldn't make as much of a difference as they do. Got them off a guy on Facebook for a very reasonable price.
