While there have been some great TDD days here in northwestern Illinois, this latest average is still annoying me. Buster was in for PDR and paint touch up which put him out of commission on some great sunny days in the last two weeks. Time to play catch up in July, August and September.

THE LATEST STATS:
11279 miles
162.02 hours top down
205.37 hours top up
Top down driving average is 44.1%

Falling down on the job, Mr. T!

Here are my numbers, as of this morning.

7433 miles
177 hours top down
103 hours top up
63,% top down.

All numbers rounded to the nearest hour/mile/percentage.

Better then I expected, really, as I put the top up in early December and didn't bring it down again until February or March.

We had so much rain these last few weeks I'm surprised our top down hasn't been too damaged

8940 miles
201 hr down
153hr up
57.7% top down

Not yet a year for the 2013/2014 yearly average final count...

All I have to say St_G is this, Memphis verses Chicago.

I really tried to go all winter top down (minus active precipitation) but I caught a bad cold in December and on a run to Walgreens for more Nyquil, I just felt so miserable that I didn't want anything to do with the outdoors. It was actually a very mild day, iirc. But after that failure, it became easy to leave the top up whenever it was cold.

Even more embarrassing, last week I put the top up because it was too HOT. In my defense, I was driving to a shoot and didn't want to show up drenched in sweat, even if I knew that I would be by the time it was over.

There has only been 2.6 hours of TUD (top up driving) since July 4th last numbers. I'm very happy about that but a lot of ground to recover after our terrible midwestern winter. I still have several months of great TDD to look forward to.

THE LATEST STATS:

I rolled over 36,000 total miles and 400 hours top-down on our MTTS trip. Average MPH is about 30, so that makes me about a 33% top-down guy. In my defence it is a daily driver and I do live in the Northeast, so I don't think that's too terrible.

No no no, North East . . . that's no excuse
We did have a lot of rain this last july

This is perfect timing. I just recorded my gas receipt (that's when I do my TDD) and it just happens that we completed our first year with the MINI.
10,600 miles (I wish we had gone on trips the way we wanted to...)
256h 40 min top down
which amounts to 60% TDD . . . I'm pretty pleased with that number. We'll see what this year brings us

.

O.K., I must say that the weather has been much more pleasant here in Chicagoland. (like it some kind of amusement park) and the forcast for the fall is normal or warmer than normal temperatures. Thats great! As far as I'm concerned, it could be 90°F in December and I'm fine with that. The only result will be a better TDD average.

THE LATEST STATS:

226.56 hours top down

I can't remember the last time October has had such beautiful weather here in Chicago. This month has been absolutely spectacular and it looks like the next 10 days will be more of the same.

THE LATEST STATS:
14,341
254.21 hours top down
215.99 hours top up
Top down driving average is 54.0%

This fall was a vast improvement over last year with temperatures at about normal. There was a very short spurt of an arctic blast and thankfully it ended quickly. BUSTER's snow shoes have been on for over weeks now and with tomorrow being the first day of winter, we're ready. Not as bad as I expected on the latest TDD percentage. Think spring, it's just less than 13 weeks away.

THE LATEST STATS:
16,230 miles
265.18 hours top down
253.35 hours top up
Top down driving average is 51.1%

I'm not afraid but the lowest we've done is 40° with no wind or sunny. Past that I'm out... Below freezing is just not right . . .

My latest:
- 40,700 miles
- 471 hours top down
Assuming 30mph average that's about 34%. My average is not so great, but I'm doing OK as far as the total is concerned!

No much in the way of TDD to report since December. The weather was just a bit too cold, O.K., not by spiney's standards but cold nonetheless. The last week has been great with temperatures in the 50's and 60's with more to come, hopefully. Here's the damages so far.

THE LATEST STATS:
18,599 miles
265.51 hours top down
326.81 hours top up
Top down driving average is 44.8%

Adding TDD most days. Had a stretch of sub 14 temps that lasted too long. Pulled my utilization percentage down. Over 438 hours on openometer and over 17,050 miles on odometer. Not bad for WNY driving daily for 20 months straight.

45,000-ish miles now and just hit 500 hours yesterday!

Still holding around 33% or so. I'll try harder this summer, I promise!

March and April warmed up a bit here in Chicago, allowing many more TD hours. May on the contrary, has been cooler than normal but still allowing for some beautiful days of TDD. Hopefully June will be a bit kinder.

Buster cracked the 20,000 mark this month and his birthday is coming up soon.

@ Spiney: Congrats for the 500 hrs mark that's neat to start celebrating the TD hours rather than the usual mileage markers

@ Mr T: Chicago is no excuse. You've got to do better! . . .

Latest stats for us are still pretty good so far:

17,664 miles
404 hrs TD!
294 hrs TU!
TDA, almost 58% . . . I'm happy + its yearly average is only going to get better since its anniversary is in August. Going on two years already. Time flies!
