R59 Stumbling at idle
Stumbling at idle
Hi All,
Anyone had a problem with the idle stumbling at a light? Seems to happen hot or cold, but worse cold. The idle will drop, but then recover. It is a bit low and rough after that. Seems to surge back and forth on back throttle down hill as well.
We had it to the dealer for the 1 year service and oil change, but they couldn't find anything. My thinking is carbon build up in the heads affecting the mixture. Anyone else had this?
Thanks,
Franny

My car is new and does this. Idle is between 700 and high 600's. Turn the AC on and the idle is low 800's and great. I don't think this could be carbon build up. I'm at 12,000 miles all highway and its been like this as long as I remember. It's been real hot lately so AC has been on and idle is great. Too bad we couldn't raise the idle some. I wonder if the car was tuned if they would fix this?.
Mine has done this since day one as well, and while it was a bit disconcerting at first it has NEVER stalled and its not really too severe... i only hear the engine slow down a bit but the car doesn't shudder as if its close to death.
I bet it has something to do with *something* turning on under the hood. Maybe the fan, AC, etc.?
It's pretty rare, maybe once or twice a week that i notice it.
