R59 I'm in!!! Ordered a roadster today...
Anyone know how to find a lost ship that is suppose to dock at Baltimore POA at 02:00 UTC? This has me stumped. Three years ago, I could follow that ship from Nova Scotia to New York harbor, down past New Jersey into the The Chesapeake Bay. It was 10 hours up the Chesapeake, so I don't know what UTC means, but even at EDT it ain't going to make that 02:00 time.
Thanks Spiney, but beings as it is now 08:11 CDT, or 09:11 EDT, then that means in 49 minutes my Raggi will be docking at the Baltimore POA on schedule. How would you like to bet that is not going to happen? This is crazy unless our Tirranna has NOT reported and just drove right up the Chesapeake Bay. I kind of doubt that. My guess is that the Tirranna must have sunk.
Hemi,
What is your best guess as to when you will get Raggi? Matilda is due in NJ on Tuesday, 26... If this happens , some believe that there is a chance for Bedford, NH, Mini to be able to deliver her on Friday, 29.... Wishful thinking!!!

Here's what my MA said today. It will take about one week to get Raggi from VDC, 3-21 to the dealership, then a couple of days to apply the stripes. That's 9 or 10 days, which will put us past the deadline of March 30th, in my opinion.
But, three years ago, it took 2 days at the VDC, then 2 days trucking to Schaumburg. That was five days from the Baltimore port. I don't know what has changed, but evidently something has. In reality, it doesn't make much difference, but it would be nice to get the little guy. But this not knowing where it all is when it is do to dock in ten minutes, well.............

My MA didn't tell me this... Another experienced enthusiast did... A couple of days at VDC.. On truck, up to NH... So, lands on Tuesday.. On truck sometime Thursday... Delivery possible Friday afternoon .. Appears to be the old formula you referenced ... I don't understand why it would take a week to get to Iowa... I toldMA that I want my car properly prepped... And not to rush it to meet a deadline .
Spiney and all: The Tirranna has finally made it to the outskirts of the Chesapeake Bay. It's about two hours until it crosses the Norfolk to Maryland bridge at the bottom of the Chesapeake Bay. Then about 10 hours to port, I believe. The reason it was not available was on account that the Tirranna used the Southerly route, and almost directly West from the Celtic Sea. That's probably why it took only 8 days to cross the Atlantic Ocean too. Anyway, it should unload my Lil Raggi tomorrow sometime. Now it's getting fun again, knowing he's this close to American soil.
I don't know what ship you are on, but Marinetraffic.com is what I've been using. Of course, I've gone pretty nuts the last two days as I thought that I should be able to see the Tirranna coming down the Atlantic Coastal area. No dice, I guess that the Tirranna came directly across the Atlantic, by using the Southern route, as they say. I've spent 9 days in the Dead Zone until about 20 minutes ago. I'm feeling pretty good right now.
ChefTyGuy: Looks like we are going to pass each other on the Bay in about one hour or so. Be sure to wave. We're about to the Washington turn off now. It appears that we made very good time from midnight to now, as we're steaming along at about 17 knots or so. We may dock before noon I'd say.
Your Athens Highway is really poring on the speed at 18.5 kn. as we are going uphill at 17.2 kn. Gotta be that you are going down hill. Looks like only about half an hour now until we pass each other. The Athens Highway should be very close to your port in Georgia by the end of the day, I'd guess. We're both getting closer.

ChefTyGuy, better tell your pilot to slow down, just a bit, as you guys are still going 18.2 knots. My pilot slowed down to 17 knots, we are just about to pass each other in a couple of minutes. "Get ready to wave" Now on to the port.

Bill, Not a chance I'm telling him to slow down. Hell, I'd rather he get a push from someone the entire way to speed it up. The sleepless nights havent kicked in yet but I think they are coming soon for me. The excitement is nerve racking.
Yes, we're almost there. Gary, that's kind a neat seeing the Tirranna plowing up the bay. Did you see that Pepper White face smiling and waving from the third deck? Earlier he got out there to wave at ChefTyGuy's Marron when they passed each other. Tirranna should be docking in an hour or do now. Talk about nerve racking this has been. Thanks guys.
and im jealous
should be late tonight if not tomorrow for my boy to dock in GA. Do we know if they unload at all hours of the night or just when the VDC is open?

ChefTyGuy: Your Athens Highway is docked at Brunswick now. I don't know what time it got in, but I just checked and it is there. My Tirrana is STILL docked in Baltimore at the heavy equipment area.
Talked with my local dealer's service guy and told him about Lil Raggi having been unloaded at the Baltimore POA. He said that it is probably on a truck headed for the Chicago area by now. That, unless you are having something done at the VDC, it doesn't take long there. Basically, all they are concerned with if there was any damage on the voyage, and if the car runs properly. That they check things out, but the want to get the cars off to the dealership as fast as possible. Something about Mini buyers being very anxious people. REALLY!!!

How about that? I checked with Owners Lounge Mini and they have my Lil Raggi at the Distribution Center. Only two days late, but what the heck. That means that he's probably half way to Chicago by now. All kidding aside, yes I'm pumped.
