Still waiting on 2013 prices to officially drop so I can finalize the order on my 2013 "S". Of course, being severely impatient I've been playing with the Configurator tool non-stop!

One thing is really driving me nuts - I have the polar beige color line, black/polar beige dash panel and striped alloy and the configurator keeps showing the door ring in piano black which I really do not like. I've been taking a look at the pics of some other Roadsters with similar interior options and I've seen the door ring in a fluid silver - how can I make sure that I am getting that option? I do know that it's glitching in one respect - the color option should have the e-brake and gearshift in the polar beige leather but it shows black. Is it possible that the black door ring is another glitch? If so, what's the proper option code for the contrasting door ring?

You should go to your dealer and talk to the GM. He can log you on to the 2013 configurer. The prices for the 2013 have been out for about a week. My 2013 roadster is in paint, it has the JCW checked cloth interior with the JCW exterior package. It's a roadster S and you could not build this car in 2012. I know this because I ordered a car with Recaro's and it couldn't be built.

 

Thanks for the reply - not sure what's going on with my dealer. We are going through Pentagon Cars Sales as we are Air Force stationed in Italy. It's an American dealer selling direct from BMW/Mini...not sure why he hasn't been given updated specs/prices yet.

Finally figured out what the hold up was....Pentagon Car Sales is military only and they're still negotiating as we get special prices. Still have a July production slot, so that makes me happy.

FrannyB - beautiful! It's similar to what I am looking for but I'm not doing the color in the door panel. I want to leave that black but have that silver ring. What were your option specs?

 

The configurator showed black rings on mine too, but it came with the silver rings.



I have the striped alloy like you are looking at, but it doesn't show up well in this phone picture.

I thought all that beige/silver would clash a bit, but I'm really starting to like it! It is a little different The cream seats is to help keep the temp down.

Thanks all, for the help! Sorry for the long delay in response - never got e-mail notification of new posts. Anywho, I built the same car on the UK site and it popped up with the silver rings as soon as I added the striped alloy - turns out that the black rings on the US configurator is one of those little known "known problems". Mini should know that us exacting "you-if-icators" are going to notice every little detail!

On an up note - I've got a priority 3 build slot and production number - starts production next week, I'll have it in 2 weeks! Downside to purchasing through this program? No Owner's Lounge access...so no stalking for me to keep me occupied for the next couple of weeks!

Spiney - your interior specs are very close to what I chose! Thanks for the pics - helps me visualize my future ride.

 

Just checked out the configurator and now the striped alloy is described with "contrasting black door ring", which is not how it was described prior to the 2013 changes. Looks like I'm about to be disappointed whenever my car finally gets around to arriving...
