Unhappy Peanut got hurt.

Had the car less than a week, had large piece of debris hit front end.
Scraped the hood so bad you can see the primer. Parking lights damaged.

Shame! My first Cooper S got a chunk of truck tyre through the headlight, which also bent the bonnet. I feel for you...

Bummer. My Roadster sympathizes; it now has a rock-induced star in the windshield, right in my line of vision.

Ouch! Usually every vehicle I get receives a road scar near the beginning and then its fine after that. Hopefully your baby has good luck from here forward...

3/4 of my new cars had this happen within the first few weeks of ownership. The other one got a baseball in the side from the kids playing baseball in the cul-de-sac the second day.

That does suck.

What's your Comp deductible ? If you don't have a lot of Comp claims on your record, and your deductible is pretty low, might be worth presenting a claim to your insurance carrier.

Ok so took peanut to dealer body shop looks like they're gonna have to keep him at least FIVE DAYS!
Good news is they said I can still drive it till Monday.
Bad news is they had no idea how to get the parts as the car is not listed in their computers yet.

State farm is pretty fair so going through comp.

Have to say though was given 2012 mitsubishi eclipse as loaner/rental. Hated it the car was horrible! Felt like tin can on the road. (Only confirmed that Mini was the way to go) @ 65 car felt like it was gonna blow over. Stalled out several times in driveway. Returned it same day.

Grand Prix is back outta retirement! felt safer in a car w/198k+ than 2012 with less than 10k and check engine light on!

Awww, so sorry to hear this. :(
When I brought Little Wing home my husband suggested that I drive through the azaleas in the front yard just get it over with.
I didn't take his advice, but I did back into his car in the driveway last year.
Little Wing had the windshield replaced twice in the first year.
I hope Peanut is as beautiful as the first day soon!

Good decisions all around... using your Comp coverage and for being insured with State Farm (my employer).

You could always work with the rental agency on getting a different vehicle. Insurance only authorizes the class of the car, the rental company picks the car for you. Enterprise once thought they were doing me a favor by giving me a PT Loser as a rental. Uhhhh... no thanks !

I've had my Mini for a month and my wife backed into a large rock, cracking the bumper. I was not happy...especially since she backed over a sprinkler key that was sticking in the water shutoff valve in someone's yard in my brand new Honda Civic Hybrid a few years ago. She only does this in my cars. I told her that I'm getting the backup sensors in my next car.

Have to say State Farm my local office has been great. The adjuster apparently initially refused to replace the 3m clear bra, as he only allowed $50.,it cost $600 but they did eventually get it covered including the installation. So far grand total is $3700.

Time frame has been pushed back untill " sometime next week"
Disappointed Sunday is the local clubs annual meet and I was really excited to go.

I'd say most adjusters aren't all that familiar with clear bras. In fact, most body shops aren't able to replace them either, they have to contract that out. So not surprised to hear you had some resistance in getting it replaced but glad you were able to resolve that issue.

Also not suprised at the cost. I had an aftermarket clearbra on my 06 Justa-Cooper and it was over $1000 back in 2006.

Hoping to get into a 2013 Coupe and it's getting a clear bra on Day 1. Best investment for a new car I can think of.

Don't mean to hijack the thread. Good luck throughout your claim process !
