RAISED: My "Racing GT" R58 Spoiler Solution from eBay + 3D-Printed Braces
Here is my solution to get a $90 GT style Spoiler installed + 8 hours of brace design in CAD and prototype printing.
Rearward view of the spoiler and its stance: Before and after (higher stance based off online photos).
While the spoiler is gloss black; it needs a good clear coat added -- but that is the easy part.
Side profile of higher stance spoiler.
The spoiler stays in the closed position after programming:
1) Add +SFIX to the VO via FA in software
2) Use FA_Write to write the VO settings separately to the CAS and FRM modules
3) Read (Lesen) the SPEG and KOMBI modules to create separate FSW_PSW.trc files for each.
4) Code (Codierungdaten) empty(!) FSW_PSW.man files to the SPEG and KOMBI modules
5) Set 'aktiver_heckspoiler' - active rear spoiler - to 'In-active' in the SPEG module and change any other setting lost in 'Step 4' back to your desired features.
6) Test that the spoiler stays in the lowered position.
Close-up of 3D-printed nylon-carbon fiber standoff brace. Very sturdy! Mounted directly to the OEM spoiler mounting points using OE screws and spacers.
The OE spoiler is stored in a safe place and unmodified (i.e., no holes drilled into it nor pieces salvaged for repurposing on the new wing.
Prototype 3D-printed standoff braces with heat-set threads. The working model is based off of these.
The four mounting screws for the heat-set threads were from the OEM spoiler. The 8 screws used to attached the braces to the wing came with the spoiler kit.
If there is enough interest in the 3D-Printed braces from the NAM readers and R58 owners, I will make them available via eBay or direct. Someone let me know how similar or dissimilar the mounting points of the convertible are to the R58 -- these braces could have two-fold service.
Spoiler is available from independent seller on eBay (no affiliation with me, nor do I sell the spoiler). I designed the brackets for my car using the OEM spoiler as a guide and the universal brackets that came with the spoiler.
The eBay Spoiler site states: For Mini Cooper S Coupe 47" Rear Trunk Spoiler Racing GT Rear Wing Gloss Black Yes, the spoiler fits, but the included brackets (below) are for universal applications and NOT the R58 Coupe, unless you drill holes through the existing infrastructure.

Reason: Picture Update
Indeed, I can print those. The cost is $65 + $5 shipping (negotiable within reason). These are printed from a temperature-resistant nylon (PA612) reinforced with carbon for added strength. The shorter profile adds a unique look to the R58! The taller version is still in operation after 3,000 miles and continues to perform well at "highway" speeds
in high-ambient-temperature situations. The shorter version is made of identical material.
