Oil pump solenoid repair kit

I have an 2012 Coupe S. It was recently in the shop for something unrelated and the dealer indicated my oil solenoid was leaking. Taken back by the cost i ordered the repair kit that, see link below:

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...e/11418609973/

Question / Issue:

I cannot get the old solenoid out of the side of the block. It was supper tight to start with and too forever to disconnect and remove to cap. Based on the doc provided with the part it should pull out and i'm supposed to disconnect and reconnect with the replacement part. Has anyone remove this part and if so how did you do it. I'm starting to suspect, i need to remove my passengers side CV shaft to get better access, but not sure

Any advice would be great

Update:

Bit confused by minis instructions (see below)

Am i supposed to pull the existing solenoid wire out of the block until i find the mid point connection and then attach this repair kit, or am i supposed to disconnect the existing connection that is currently external and cliped to the side of the block and connect this repair kit. Then feed the additional cable length into the side of the block using the tool.
