Door Puddle Lights........

Does anybody know if the OEM bulbs in these puddles can be replaced with LED or are they sealed units? I didn't look at them yet.

I did a head lights / fog lights / position lights LED conversion and this is a very big improvement over any Xenon or Halogen set up. I also did the license plate lights for better safety since I drive most of the time in the middle of nowhere.

W5W bulb,

I replaced with this:

MINI Cooper LED Door Projection Courtesy Puddle Lights

https://www.gobadges.com/led-door-light-projection-courtesy-puddle-light-p/mini-door-light.htm

if you don't want to project a picture, they sell the lights alone too

easy to install and completely reversible

I started with w5w leds (no need to get ones with resistors), then moved to aftermarket units that project the Mini logo.

Do you know if this is the same light source for the door handle and armrest ambient light display or is there any other bulbs there?

you can change colors on the ambient lights can't you

suggests not the same source

also as you see in the install pics of the projector version, it projects DOWN with a solid backside so the other lights could not be spillover

My question is where the lighting source coming from? It seems plausible to be an optic cable from the overhead control with a special colored bulb. This is just a guess but It seems there should be a few bulbs under this pod.
