R58 Modification Advice???
Modification Advice???
Hey all... I've had my 2012 Mini JCW Coupe now for about four months and I love it. I've already added a M7 Speed Turbo Shield, a M7 CAI, a Hotchkis Rear Swaybar, Helix Short throw adapter, Cravenspeed Shift **** and a M7 Strut Brace.
My question is what would be your next modification? (I like my JCW exhaust and really don't want to change it out but if it's something that should be done I will.)
Intercooler
Catted Downpipe
Manic Stage 1
Pre-Intercooler Charge Pipe
Discharge Pipe
Air Charge Pipe
or another mod you think should be done instead... I know there are a lot well educated experts on mods to Mini's and I just would really appreciate everyone's input on where my next move would get me the most for my money (and performance), followed by the next mod, and so on...
Thanks so much for everyone for your advice...

The next mod for sure should be a Forge Intercooler, you will need it before a tune. But also you will see an increase even without a tune as it is great bang for the buck.

With that also do our WMW res delete pipe for the discharge pipe as it is cost effective and easy to do at same time as intercooler.

You shouldn't need to do anything with the air charge pipe as the R58 shouldn't have a noise maker that you would need to remove, so save your money.
Then the Powerflex Torque arm bushing insert is another great bang for the buck as it will reduce the engine rock and help get the current power to the ground.

Hi LuvMyJCWCoupe, welcome to NAM! Feel free to check out the free performance upgrade guide on our site that will help walk you through which order to do things in and in which stages. Feel free to ask any questions! Have you added a Sprint Booster?

Welcome aboard LuvMyJCWCoupe. Ditto on what Waylen said. Go for an intercooler first. Take your pick from Forge, Helix or Wagner all good units. Increased power and safety (a win, win). The PowerFlex is super easy to install and also inexpensive. I'd also look into SS brake lines and new pads (For street check out EBC Red pads). They dust much less than the stock pads, wear well and have good bite and feedback.
The only year with the noise maker is the 2012 JCW. After the above I'd look at a tune (Manic Stage 1) or tune/downpipe combo (Stage 2). If going catless check out Ways DP as its very well made and a good deal (another win, win).

Thanks for all the great advice!!!
Thanks Tigge ,
Great advice... ordered the Powerflex Torque Bushings and the WMW res delete pipe as well as a Wagner Intercooler (not the competition one... a bit expensive for me - don't think I need that one) and sometime in the next three weeks I'll get Lou to do the Manic Stage 1 for now. By the way I do have 2012 JCW Coupe... So I should get the delete the noise maker????
I'll look into the stainless steel brake lines as well as the brake pads.
Thanks to everyone for their great advice... Alex

Will you see much difference by removing the noise maker? No not really. Yes removing is will eliminate a small amount of turbulence in the intake tract and slightly reduce the volume of space the turbo has to pressurize. The real advantages of removing are a slightly quieter cabin and eliminating the possibility of it failing and dumping boost. All that being said there are five options to eliminating the noise maker.
1. NM Charge pipe P/N NM.488855 ~$180
2. Forge delete pipe P/N FMR56OBH ~$95
3. WMW Noise maker delete ~$90
4. N18 Manifold pipe P/N 13717611120 ~$70 (Don't buy the superseded part no. 13719806688 it cost more and is a convoluted mess)
5. Joey mod to cap Y branch $15 Homedepot (not recommended)

I`ve been trying to delete that noise maker but i wanted to have a factory look.

Is this the correct part for the noise maker delete?
