Tire Fitment

Hey all! I'm relatively new to the mini Family and I need some feedback on an idea of mine. I have a 2013 R58 that I'm currently running stock height with 205s on the JCW 18 inch red and black wheels. I want to go lighter and wider. I'm thinking 17x8 inch wheels on some 225/40s or 235/35 or 40s. I know I may need to space em to get things working right but I wanna bring the car down about half an inch on good coil overs and have these fatties for the best launch and grip.
Thoughts?
