I also observed since living on the Northwest coast that MPG has increased on normal driving conditions with the sport button on. I don't know what is the reason other than air quality, better breathing and better set up of the ECU on that mode but it is a fact and works for me.

I travel 50 miles everyday on twisty mountainous roads to go to work and I can average between 33 and sometimes up 35 MPG.

I recently tuned up the dial from 11.00 to 12 00 to see if there is any change. I have a little bit more of throttle response under load at 50-60 MPH. I would never remove the JB+.

I may even try to go up to 1.00 and see what happens later in the next few weeks.

OOOh, I will do the same in setting it to 12 noon... I did notice less throttle response at 50/60 MPH...

Let me know what 100% is like...

I've seen a 2/3 mpg drop on as computed by the Mini's Avg. MPG, but I think it's all me, as I a bit of a lead foot.

Thumbs up Don't wait to install this tune

For the money and the simplicity of this product it's Amazing! Really if your thinking of adding this to your Mini don't wait just do it. It's super easy to install, and removal (for dealership visits) is just as simple. I did not notice it's power at first, and it took a few days to really show its fangs. Now the power is just there, and it's a fun "raw" power feeling. I know someone has mentioned this before but my wife even noticed it. If your looking for a larger power gain without the larger cost this is one of the first things you should do. Enjoy

I would add there is nothing to worry about dealer visits. I never removed mine and the service adviser gave positive comments without warnings when he saw it.

When set appropriately as recommended, there is no issue at all.

As I mentioned in another thread, somebody bought the JB+ (or the similar NM unit) from their Mini dealer and they installed it for him.

Wink i've been testing settings on my JB+..

i usually run 93 octane (got a BP that has it, only a few here in Mpls, MN) and have had my JB+ for a few years and always ran it at 50% (12oclock).

this last month, i decided to try out 80% or 3oclock... whoa!! my exhaust was seriously deeper and the burple and pops were def longer and drawn out vs the shorter rapid fire burples and then a pop. throttle response was crazy tight and felt a bit too much in my daily commuting. i then dialed it back to about 65% / 1 1/2 oclock (hehe) and have found my balance of gains and audible tones. i prefer the quicker burple and popping.

side note, i do have a 3" Downpipe exhaust setup so that probably explains the more dramatic gains i felt by going from 50% to 80%. i plan to do a FMIC and then stage 1 manic tune next spring if i can save up the moneys. at some point i want my Bonnie to be able to shoot flames

We have 92 octane here and I am set at 11 o'clock. I live in the Northwest coastal cool climate and I never cared much about the pops and burbles.

But, I can say they are louder during winter driving in the mountains. I really like the JB+ for the added power and torque. The real benefits with the JCW engine are in the 3-5500 rpm range where you feel a big improvement.
