R58 MINI Coupe 2013 ?
That pic you have is a Gen 1 MINI above , you have a gen 2.
gen 2 MINI hood trim : 51132751359
https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/51132751359/
This mounts to the hood only just presses and clips into place on the meatl edge.
For the windshield replacement its usually the cowl, with integrated rubber strip that gets messed up.

This cowl cover seems to be a very large assembly and I suspect I have some rattle coming from time to time on rough pavement from the left side.Originally Posted by ECSTuning

Some detailed pictures of the components would be appreciated.
In same time, could you post a few pictures of the left B post trim assembly? I also have rattle coming from these trim parts.

That cowl is two pieces, so it's not so bad. I'd be willing to bet that one of your access door latches has broken and may be flapping about. One of mine did in especially cold weather.

So, nobody plays with the service doors for sure. I will certainly check if anything is not tight.
Thanks for the comment.

Did you have a windshield replaced duber53 ? Most of the time that's where the installer messes up the cowls and the pillars on install and they rattle.
The pics for the cowl.

The car never had a windshield replacement.
Could you post pictures of the left inside B pillar trim assembly?

Ok. Welcome.
You mean the C pillar trim in the back between the two main glass pieces ? #2
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=51_8391
The B pillar has no trim , its just a main seal and the glass.

I don't need any. I just asked to see pictures of these window plastic frames to see how they are designed and why they rattle from time to time.Originally Posted by ECSTuning

It is obvious there is not enough clips to hold them in place properly.
Do you have pictures showing the attachment points of these window frames and how they are installed?

No, no pic, but what you can do is get some velcro tape and use the soft side and take the panel out and put that tape between the metal and the plastic and clips it back in. The dealership uses the same thing for rattles, had it done on my R52 and if i get rattle in the r58 , i will do the same.
Thats the interior metal in the back.

When you drive and you hear the rattle , pull over and tap the same area. Then pinpoint and pull that tape in that location, if you tell your MINI dealership , they can do this for you. They have a interior rattle audio tool, I have seen it.

The Velcro seems a pretty good fix if the rattling trim can be located.Originally Posted by ECSTuning

The pictures of the window trim assembly has been useful but I will not commit to remove it.
I may have found the problem. The clips of these window assemblies may have been a little lose. I tried to squeeze them more deeply.
As for the front cowl covers, I also checked to make sure all the clips are holding down properly.
I will keep posted if the problem is fixed.
