How many plan on keeping thier Coupe/Roadsters forever?
I know there is a similar thread about the 1st gen so I thought, since the Coupes and Roadsters had such a short run and are relatively rare in comparison to all the other Mini models, I would start a thread on these cute little Mini's.
I've been into cars all my life and certainly know when you have a car that the general public not only notices but likes enough to stop you to let you know how much they like it.
This has certainly been true with our Coupe.
We like our Coupe so much that we plan on keeping it forever.

Yes, a very rare sight even more in JCW trim where I moved to WA. In some ways, it is a big concern for me.
The problem is the nearest dealer is in Seattle, mostly a 2 hours drive just to go. I would be better served with a Mustang or Subaru dealer about 20 minutes away. Without any doubt, the Coupe is very attractive and brings a lot of comments.
Since the MINI has not a reliable reputation and seems very expensive to service and fix, it may not be the right car to keep here at the end of the maintenance program.

We have only one Mini dealership in our whole state and it is the closest to us at 100 miles.
Our service warranty just went out but we still have one more year factory warranty and then our Mini " Next" extended warranty kicks in for two more years.
So in three more years and out of warranty we have made the decision that a couple thousand put back for future repairs will be an absolute necessity if we keep the Mini Coupe.
Would we have made this kind of commitment for any Mini other than the Coupe or Roadster? Absolutely not. There is nothing about the other model Mini's that set them aside into a very exclusive class that will never be produced again as you can simply go out and purchase another ( not so the Coupe/Roadster ).
It's kinda a car nut thing, the car is either worth it to you or not.
In your case it is not but in our case it is.
Yes, most people are not very close to a dealer. Most are in cities in a downtown location. Remember the early days when it was a handful of dealers.

When I purchased my first MINI in 2003 I was living 100 miles from the dealer. That was inconvenient, so I quit my job, sold my house, and moved closer.
That's getting closer to the ones you love.
