Funny Engine Idling

While stopping for a light or other, does anyone have their engine idling almost completely stop like the car is going to die, but it doesnt? I just wondered if this is normal? (manual trans.)

Yes this has happened to a few roadster owners, including me. N18 roadster s.

Only sometimes when the engine is cold.

I usually get one "hiccup" after starting when engine is cold. It usually happens a couple miles down the road after coming to a stop. Smooth after that.
