Ordered CoupeS

OK. So I ordered my Coupe and that was almost 2 weeks ago. So I call my dealer to find out where the order number is, knowing that it might take a bit to kick in. He actually says he has the last 7 of the vin and gives them to me. So I go on the website but all it tells me is the status of the Mini I own now. So I call the number that is on one of the threads on this website regarding the tracking issue and it says my car will be completed April 5th! Is it possible that the car could have been built that fast? I realize is still has to cross the pond, but holy smokes I was expecting it to be longer than that.

Obviously not a bad thing if it is accurate, just surprised.

If your dealer had an open slot already allocated then it is possible. Congrats on the order and quick build!

I'm happy. Currently own a 2011 Mini Clubman S. Drove a lot of cars before I chose this one. So I am very excited about getting it, ask you might expect.

I call foul! No fair telling us about an order without providing details.

Well I got a Mini Cooper Coupe S version. It is Silver White with Black Stripes. I also added red leather steering wheel, red leather break, red leather shifter, climate control, two additional tachometers, JCW interior package (black seats cloth with red stitching), Technology Package, Black headlight housing, Xenon headlights, Mini Connect (no nav), black door handles (interior), and will be putting my current mini's tires on it which are 17" black rims with silver outline.

Thanks for asking.

My build is very similar to that (except for the wheels and the extra gauges and mine will be an Auto). I'm glad someone else is getting a Coupe without the JCW exterior kit, it seems like most of the owners on here either have a full JCW or the exterior kit. While I love the kit, it pushes up the price so much for what you get so it's out of my budget.

I agree with that. I got the JCW interior package...cloth seats with the red trim, and red stitching on the steering wheel. It looks great.

Felt no need for the exterior kit. Car looks great without it. But certainly do not begrudge those who chose to make that an addition to their vehicle. But that's one of the wonderful things about a Mini - so many ways to make it your own.

I currently own a 2011 Mini Clubman S and love it. So when I decided to buy another car I took the time to look at a lot of vehicles that compete with Mini. None gave me everything I was looking for to the degree the Mini did.

So needless to say I am excited about my choice. It's in the paint shop today.

you should consider looking at the JCW Spoiler i think it really finishes the mini coupe's design/back. i got it on mine and am loving it! plus, i think when other cars see it and hear my baby pop and burble, they back off...

nonetheless, your gonna LOVE your coupe s.. just wait till you hit 1000miles, she'll start to growl even more.. btw, here's my baby w/the jcw spoiler (also, ZERO rattles from the rear on some really nasty roads too)

Ya, I am excited. As it gets closer and it gets more "real" you get more anxious. Not sure exactly where it is that this point, but having been on the ocean for about two weeks, I would think it is getting closer to its destination port.

I live in AZ. Does that mean it will go through the Panama Canal and into LA?

Thanks,
john

OK - Here's the deal. My car is scheduled to arrive at Port Hueneme, CA on May 3rd.

Gettin close.

Pretty cool info available. On the British ship Torino. Has been to several ports. Took it two weeks to get from South Hampton to Manzanillo, Panama.

Good news = car is here. Bad news = they don't have any of the red leather highlights I order for the interior.

By that, do you mean that they outfitted the car incorrectly in the wrong color, or is the dealer simply out of the color accents you ordered?

Oh, and BTW: you're going to LOVE the coupe. I just traded in mine for a roadster. That coupe was hard to part with.

I had order a redwood leather shifter boot, redwood leather steering wheel, and redwood leather brake boot. Apparently, they no longer are available but they are still available on the website. All the modes are done at the dealer for these types of items.

Your Coupe is my exterior twin, so can't wait to see pics when you pick it up! Sorry about the interior colour stuff, hopefully the dealer can make it right for you.

Picked up my car on Friday, but then went out of town for the weekend. I will post some pics soon. Car is great, everything i hoped for - except my red leather interior accents. Found some on line after market folks who do some interior work. May see if I can do something, not sure. In any case, the car looks and drives very well so far and I am quite happy with my purchase.
