There's never really much movement in the R58 section...probably cuz there aren't many of us lol.

But I figured I'd just make this thread and see if it goes anywhere.

So.....do your windows roll up the same speed?

Noticed my driver door is slower then the passanger.

It's actually vice versa on mine. Dealer says it's because I've had mine tinted, but I call BS on that!! It's been doing that since I got the car.

Yeah, tint has nothing to do with it. Electric motors are difficult to calibrate to work at absolutely, perfectly, precisely the same speed. Any change in resistance (higher or lower) from the tint would affect both window motors the same way. Moisture differences between the 2 sides, though, like condensation on one side burning off before the other- that can cause temporary differences in the speed.

Driver's window is about 1/2 sec slower.

Hello, might I ask what you mean when you say you had it coded for the "rear fogs"? And are you saying they can code it to allow you to roll the windows up as well as down with the fob? Thanks.

Yes, I bought the toggle switch from the dealer , I believe it's $8. And had a guy, ( he is on NAM) code it so the rear fogs were activated, the one touch up/ down and I can roll up or down the windows using the key fob when not in the coupe , or simply hit the toggle whilst in the car for one touch up or down on the windows.

Thanks for the info. I have the rear fog lamp but apparently they did not code it at the factory. I guess I'll be talking with my MA on Monday. As far as the one touch up windows, well that would be awesome. Maybe some day I can get that enabled.

Update: I got it all figured out. My rear fog lamps work fine. Would still like to get some other things coded in the future though.

How'd you find out they work?

Did you already have a toggle switch for the rear fogs?

I too have all the wiring and bulbs in place...just no toggle switch.

I didn't mean to confuse anyone. I ordered my Coupe with the fog lamps but was having some issues until I did a little reading and now understand how they work.

Jimmy, I hope you are enjoying your Coupe. I saw your pictures and the car looks awesome. I haven't had anything coded yet. Not even sure where to start. I know there are threads here on the forum explaining the process but I think I'd rather pay someone to do it for me. I am heading east next month to attend "Minis on the Dragon" and I am hoping one of the vendors there will offer that service. If so there are several things I'd like to have coded such as auto windows up and the ability to roll the windows up with the key fob. I don't know if you know that you can roll your windows down with the key fob.

thanks! OMG i'm so in love with her too!!

next year i want to try to get to the Minis on the Dragon but too late this year.

nice, i've heard about the coding and may even dabble into doing my own since i'm a pretty huge computer geek/nerd. right now my mini coupe came w/the all windows down options when i hold the unlock button. i haven't tried to roll them all up w/the lock button yet; i'll try tonight at my pals.

i'd love to get the VIM coding removed but to me it sounds more cost than its really worth; i got the mini connected and iphone 4 setup going and really like the driving excitement app but the other ones are more gimmick. i wish we could make our own custom skins for the performance meter.

let me know what you end up doing w/the coding; i'd be curious to see. have fun w/your baby too!

Might I ask where you had your coding done? I have had a friend that does coding on all other Mini's try to code my 2012 Coupe for 1 touch up window's and also closing the window's with the fob and the Auto lock's once you are out of the car and you close the doors but everytime he tries to code he get's an error and it won't allow him to access the program to change from off to on.
Please let me know. I'm in the Phila. area.
Thanks

Get ahold of TRIPL3_O Coding search the board for him. He coded my 2012 MCS remotely. I believe he is in your neck of the woods!
