R58 Battery dies only after two week?
Battery dies only after two week?
So, I just bought my mini a couple weeks ago (2012 Coupe S). I drove to work this morning, and when I went to start my car after work it was dead. Everything would light up, but when I held down the clutch and press the start button it would click then everything would shut off. I jump started the car fine, and it drove home, but I wonder why this happened?
* On a side note, I noticed the car seems to be making a whistling sound. Not sure if that's the normal sound of the turbo, but I never noticed it before.
I never leave anything on, or anything running. So I am not sure why the battery would drain. Any ideas?

There was something in another thread about the comfort access, do you have that? And something about someone's radio cycling on and off due to a software glitch, that drained their battery. Hmmmm weird.
Hope it starts tomorrow!

I had a dead battery replaced in my JCW Coupe after only a couple months. I never found the cause, but since getting a new battery I haven't had any problems. Probably a faulty battery unless they also performed a software upgrade that might have fixed an unknown cause.
