Honesty, my decision was based on who was locally available, I found one installer, which was recommended by the dealer and from what I understand most local dealers use the same installer (who actually comes in from out of town). It seems there is not much demand in the area. The installer stated he had used 3M in the past, but preferred Xpel. His preference could be completely based on material cost, ease of installation, or because he believes it is a superior product.
One comment, I have noticed the high gloss, only doing a partial install on the hood leaving half the bonnet strips uncovered and a noticeable difference. Time will tell, I'll try a full review in the spring, when I will be able to properly clean and wax.
