Strut Brace

Hello all,

fairly new to the boards .. just traded my R56 S for a new JWC Coupe.

I am looking for a strut brace anyone have any ideas on this side of the pond ... I don't really feel like paying $600.00 for one.

I eventually will put the Turbo muffler delete pipe and a cold air intake ... but want to break it in stock for now-- I did pull off those run flats to allow the suspension to start working properly.

Buy the MINI JCW strut brace. It costs around $265.

Go with the NM brace it's the best avail, and we have it in red for the JCW cars. and the end plates are solid to prevent any mushrooming.

I would pay a little more for the x-brace and really stiffen up the car. I think that is better than just the front, it is stealth and simple to install.

Just another alternative to consider.

I was under the impression that a strut brace is really not needed with the already stiff chassis in the coupe.
Do you guys really think that a strut brace is a good early mod for a coupe???

I wouldn't say it isn't needed, but I would put on a rear sway before a strut brace IMO.

I got my rear sway bar (and lowering spring) installed 2 weeks ago by the guys at Detroit Tuned. (we had a garage day at the Chicago Mini Club) Just wondering what more I will feel in rigidity if I went to the additional strut brace.

Did you get end links when you did the sway? If not you can look into that. Otherwise The NM Tower Brace is the best IMO (Way sells it in Red/Blue/Black). Also get the Torque Arm insert as well if you haven't. I have the NM but the BSH is good too.

When my JCW gets here, my intention is the whole suspension package (Springs, Sway, Links, etc..) but the tower will most likely be the last on my list....but it's still on my list. I can't comment on the usefulness of it on a Coupe vs Hardtop though.
