Aren't those of you mounting Valentines up really high in a coupe worried about blocking the rear facing receiver because of the baseball cap's bill?

I'm "this close" to pulling the trigger on a 2012 Coupe but I'm concerned about something else to do with the mirror. There are threads on this for other Minis but their mirrors mount differently.
Does anyone else have a problem lining up the mirror to see more than just a couple of car lengths back? It seems like it is set too high on the windshield.

My opinion is that the mirror is clearly mounted too high to be of much use. You may want to go have a sit or test drive in one & see what you think, though. Be sure to put the spoiler up & have a peek that way, too, if you're concerned about rear visibility.

I occasionally duck down to let me see a little further out the back, but rely primarily on my side mirrors. Honestly, it's not that huge of a bother to me, although it might annoy the heck out of someone else.

I installed my V1 yesterday... mounted it above the mirror, to the left, with the suction cup mount (why wouldn't you want to use the suction cup mount? I don't see the problem with it.) the only issue I've noticed is that if I put the visor down it hits the V-1. Will see if that's a big enough issue to move it to the right side. Works great. Used an add-a-circuit into the fuse for the lighter (I forget which number). Only thing is the fuse door doesn't close over it very well.

I sprung for the optional OBD port connector that powers it and lets the V1 know when the car's speed is below a set threshhold so it uses "mute" volume level. I'll have to look into how to thread the wire up to the mirror.

I just tucked it behind the trim all the way around the windshield... it hides completely

This looks like a nice option for my V1. It plugs into the OBD II port and the the V1 draws its power from it.

That's the piece I mentioned three posts back. It works great. I've also got the remote display for the dash area and the carry case for going on vacations. Good stuff.
