Gobble gobble gobble

Shock and surprise, I park my car way out in the middle of nowhere at work. I also work in flung-out suburbia near lakes (it is Minnesota after all) so there's quite a bit of wildlife out here.

So, people knew I was getting this Coupe, and when it showed up, people would stop at my desk to compliment it. However, in the last two weeks, these same people were coming back to say, "I saw your car and it was surrounded by turkeys."

At first I was all... quit messing with me. Then they started taking cell phone pics. And sure enough, my car is a turkey magnet.

For the first time today I actually saw it with my own eyes... and got a pic.

They didn't even flinch when I unlocked the car, got in, closed the door, and started 'er up. No more flinching when I took off, either. Just, y'know, hey there, we're turkeys. Although from the sounds of their behavior recently, I'll be they were super-sad to see their new BFF go.

Although with a bit of fear that they might start perching on the roof, I'm considering parking closer to civilization...

I like how the turkey is half the size of the coupe. Great shot!

Love it. You have to wonder what is attracting them. Color, size. From what I've read turkeys spook easily, so it is amazing they stayed around as you got in and left. Must be feeling bold since the holidays are over.

I have not noted the same behavior with mine...but I doubt there are any wild turkeys around here.

My problem is that when I park way out at the unused end of the parking lot that invariably when I come back there are other cars around mine.

I think it's the roof line. Kinda beak-like? Okay, the imagination is getting a little out of control

That pun hurts my soul

But we'll see if MINI doesn't start trying to market the Coupe to bowhunters...
