You should see the defunct MINI nav system in my now 6 year old R53. It looks totally pathetic (so much so that I'm actually embarrassed to show it to anyone who rides in my car). Your iPhone-4 based MINI Connected system will look just as bad (and will probably be completely incompatible and non-functional with iOS 12 or whatever version of the iPhone that will or will not exist) in a few years. Believe me when I tell you that MINI will NOT release updates for the older systems. It'll just be left behind as a useless antique in your otherwise still functional MINI.

Just save the cash and use a fraction of it to buy yourself another nice smartphone, MP3 player, and/or portable GPS that will be relevant in the year 2015.

Do me a favor, bookmark this post, and come back and look at it again in four year's time so that I can say... I TOLD YOU SO!
Uh.. yet MINI Connected is like one section of 8 that work with the LCD..

herp a derp a derp. And people have been using it over 3 different years/versions of iOS and phones and not running into any issues.. And you can get software updates with MINI Connected. Sure the interface may look the same if they do that but the interface already looks good.

The GPS interface is ugly indeed but MINI connected and the Menu interface looks completely different..

Going to be hard pressed to get a better picture of ours once it arrives. Still one of the best shots so far of a Coupe.

I was thinking that, too. I'll just go a different route for photos of my Midnight Black and Silver Coupe since I can't top that.

NAPALM got some more fire this weekend.

I am sure some of you already saw that the Coupe was at Detroit Tuned this weekend staring in the 400th episode of White Roof Radio. Well, now the Orange stripes that I have been waiting for Todd to install are on.
As I was leaving yesterday from the Shop, I asked Chad where a good place to take pictures of the car with some fall leaves would be near by. Without a moments hesitation Chad says "You can go to HELL" So I present one of the photos taken at Hell, Michigan.

more can be found on my flickr album for the car.

Looks great!

Very halloween :P

BTW - You should use the iPod interface for music/cover art. It blows away the standard MINI interface/look.

MINI Connected > Plugin *click* and it should work

Now staring in MY GEEK ODYSSEY

All the stuff is showing up from WhiteRoofRadio 400.
Bruce did a great impression of the nights festivities staring NAPALM myself and the boys. You may recognize some others in this as well.

Bruce nailed it with Gabe and Todd. I'm surprised those guys were willing to share the spotlight with your actual MINI.

My girlfriend's old MCS Convertible was featured in one of Bruce's strips, but my MINI never has.

So my question is, did you buy the helmet to match the MINI, or did you stripe the car to match your helmet?

(Maybe I should listen to #400 for a clue...)

None of the above....Helmet was striped at the same time as the car. Chad says that because I striped my helmet to match the car, I must now prove I am as fast as my car.

Good thing they didn't ask you to prove you're as sexy as your car.

During the trivia about the first JCW Tuning Kit, Todd mentioned that he saw my car at Mickey and MINI but didn't mention me by name. DB knows about my JCW MC, but not sure Todd does. My review was posted on MotoringFile back in October 2005. I'll own the first JCW version and the latest.

Taking picks with a Canon PowerShot S3IS, Looks as if it is no longer available from Canon. I would like to get a new DSLR but hey I just got a JCW Coupe so I guess that will have to wait a bit.
