I like the JCW stickers on each the side of the spoiler. I wonder if those are available to buy somewhere?

For a car prepared to race, the spoiler above is appropriate and probably is functional, however for street use i prefer the look of the JCW .I have wondered how the JCW will be installed.Anybody? Q

I agree. I think you hit on it perfectly.

I too asked about the install and more importantly is it removable should you so desire and what would the costs and rework be associated with that.

From the looks of it they will have to remove the stock spoiler to install it. I would bet that they leave the mechanical and just disconnect them. From the looks of it the mount is straight forward. I adore the look of the stock spoiler when its up but the tail of the car is kinda plain when its down. Plus being a GP owner I would miss feeling like a boy racer

Yes I looked at the photo again and it appears that the flat portion (the oem spoiler) and the new spoiler are a one piece design. If so then your right the whole unit is replaced.

I have to think the price of that would be well over 1K and if it was installed by a shop probably closer to 1.5 to 2K. What do you think?

Lol, I can help there too

Or better yet, figure out how to mount the wing from the WRC Countryman...

Apologies for digging up an old topic, but i've a question regarding the JCW spoiler
I'm up for buying a roadster in the next few months

I strongly dislike the automatic movable spoiler on Coupe and Roadster, so I'd rather order my next Mini with the JCW fixed spoiler. (I don't mean the big-*** endurance/challenge spoiler that's shown above )
Are these fixed spoilers also available on non-JCW cars? (since i would like to cut the spending a little I will "just" order the S or the Justacooper version, and not the Works.)

Are there already people who have the JCW fixed spoiler installed and who can post some of their experiences with it?

Thanks
Marcel

I like the one on the white car. If I could buy it right now I would have it installed and disable the automatic one.

I don't know of anyone who has done this yet.

I will check with a friend of mine tonight and see if he can find out where we are at on the solid production wing.

I'm guessing it's like the other JCW items for the coupe such as the suspension, it's been shown as an option but no part number yet. Argghhh.

You know they are not selling many of these cars. It seems to be a pretty low car park. It may not pay to make of lot of the JCW parts for the aftermarket. Some of these we may never see. For instance the spoiler.

So only the US Roadster is available with the Recaro seats option, not the Coupe. I wonder why? That white/red JCW looks good, but I'd lose the fixed spoiler and the red stripy things on the lower doors. Those remind me of something on a Plymouth Cruiser lol.

Agreed! I like the auto spoiler ok and it does look good when up but I HATE the fact that the manual switch doesn't override the automatic option altogether.

I'd buy this fixed spoiler in a heartbeat if the price was right. Like mentioned though, we may never see this produced at all. Hopefully something just as good will come along from the aftermarket side of the biz (carbon fiber, etc). If not, I might be compelled to build something myself sometime down the road.

I must be one of the few who prefers the idea of an active spoiler. Coming from a 2006 Cobalt SS (yes, it was fast, but it handled like a wet noodle) with the high-rise spoiler, having something going through your line of sight *all the time* became very annoying very quickly. I actually swapped the high-rise spoiler for the "stock" version after a few years, and have never regretted the decision.

To have a spoiler that actually retracts when you don't need it is a phenomenal prospect, and I'll keep the active spoiler for as long as it works for me!

But that's just my personal opinion. The JCW wing looks awesome; it's just a bit too much, and way too annoying, to be used on a daily driver (as my R58 will soon be).

I prefer the automatic spoiler as well. I wouldn't want a big bolt on piece in my review mirror all the time. Besides I think it dominates the natural lines of the car and looks like typical bolt on excess.

I like the stealthy idea of the automatic spoiler. Push a button and you go from tame to speedy. Kind of like the Batmobile turning into a submarine with a button push.

Friends in Germany are able to order the JCW Rear Spoiler. I'm working on getting more information.

Is The very top spoiler the JCW spoiler? If so that's the one I want to get my hands on.

James is that the one your working on?

Pat, are you talking about the endurance car spoiler that you quoted in your above post or the Red JCW spoiler on the first page? I believe the red spoiler is the one possibly being produced.

On another note, that carbon fiber spoiler on the Prodrive JCW Countryman WRC car is evil looking.....in a good way!
