I have 2015 mini cooper s convertible. The handle that you grip to open the trunk has disintegrated and there is virtually nothing there any more. I can still open the trunk fine. Not really anything I can take a picture of to show since it is underneath.

Is this something that can be easily fixed? What part number would I need and is there a video online that show how to do this?

Mine, too, is deteriorated down to just the little button under the rubber.
I see ECS offers just the rubber bit, for not much cheaper than the whole trim panel. Will have to see if it's worth just replacing the button or to just swap the whole panel.

 

Yep thats the one, i just did the whole handle on my R58 JCW, had to swap the cover as it was factory painted chili red. Also need to do the one on my R52 as its bubbling up on chrome.

This is a good DIY many have used if you have a factory painted cover.

It’s easy enough to replace the whole thing, and what I did on my 05 R53. Was the most cost effective thing to do.

 

I assume the 'with LEDs' trim is LED license bulbs?

 

Yep, we have them in a kit which adds the ziza ones. I have those on my cars also.
