This has been intermittent for a few years, but now happens every time. The top will open and lock in the open position, then give the locked convertible indicator and won't close. I remove the lock latches and it opens, but still does not close.

Trying to debug this I found that if I remove the lock latches it will open fully, then roll the windows back up as if it has worked fine, but then the locked indicator comes back on. It can be closed and goes back to normal, but never opens without the lock indicator.

I used a code reader and saw that the live codes for the top all seem to be correct in each position, but it still gives the lock error indicator. I saw some youtubes showing that the convertible cvm module might be at fault. Does anyone know how to diagnose the convertible CVM unit? Any other ideas? I did check the back tray is in the right position and it's switch is showing closed in the reader. I've also replaced the sunroof motor.
