Alignment question

Hi and forgive me if this is a stupid question. I searched and didn't see anything about this so I figured I should go ahead and ask. I have 2014 MINI convertible base model. I was at the dealership on saturday to get my state inspection and they recommended I get an alignment and tire rotation. I declined because I thought it was a little pricey...$260 for both. I am planning to go ahead and do it just figured to take my car elsewhere in any event I was told that only the dealer can do the alignment because a special tool is needed for the rear alignment. Is this true? If I have to do it at the dealer then so be it but I just wanted to confirm before proceeding.

Thanks!

We charge $125 for a FULL alignment, the dealer doesn't adjust front camber, and a lot of times we get cars come in that just got an alignment at the dealer that still aren't properly aligned.
