Electrical issue - help!

Hey guys,

So a new problem has come up in my 2010 R57. Here are my symptoms:
1. Headlights flicker when I have a charger plugged into the outlet
2. Dome light flickers whether the engine is on or off.
3. Phantom right turn indicator, one click every 10 seconds or so. However this is intermittent and hasn't happened in a couple of days.

Anybody have any experience with these things? Just got my battery tested and it seems to be in good order.

Hm.. battery is what I would have said as it is perhaps the most important electrical component on the car, and due to its design and nature, is perhaps one of the most troublesome. Just playing with ideas, but over time the alternator can begin to fail and start causing trouble with the various electrical systems in the car as well. Is the clock resetting when the lights are flickering? You can check the positive lead that attaches to the forward fuse panel. If it's doing this when the engine is on or off it just seems like it has to do with something battery or fuse panel related.

The battery was my initial thought too, but advance auto parts checked it out and it seemed fine, though running a little hot (777, rated for 600). No problems starting, dash leds seem unaffected, no clock reset.

Despite the battery test, it IS the original battery and it's now 5 years old and has 46000 miles on the clock.

That's good age for a battery. If you can't seem to find anything that's pretty apparent, you may want to start there.

I would replace the battery.
Even though it test ok doesn't mean it isn't causing the issues.
I have seen things in many different cars act funny because of a battery.
"Unlock with remote and all dash lights, dome lights, and radio come on."
Battery tested fine but replaced and problems went away.
"Car running and gauge needles flickering up and down" battery replacement fixed it.

The battery sounds like the cause. When the battery voltage is low it causes the LKM and the BCM to act up crazy.

Check the top of the battery on the color indicated if its the stock OEM battery otherwise check the terminals too.
