The face of my speedometer is dirty on the inside. Is there an easy way to remove it? I thought perhaps the trim would pop off but I don't want to force and possibly break something.

 

FES auto sells anti-reflective glass for the tach and speedo, they have an excellant how-to that should help you

My 07 has finger prints on the inside of the lens. Fingerprints! Drives me nuts.

Maybe not nuts enough to risk squeaking trim, but nuts.

Our Cabrio has the same problem, during sunshine days it really is noticeable. I am like you also, in that I don't have the confidence to try and take them apart.
Just have to live with it unless some vendor at the Dragon is offering that service. Would be nice to change faces too.

 

I know on my CM, the trim popped off, then the clear plastic did the same so I could clean mine from the inside.

 

Same thing here on the gage above the steering wheel. Dirty around the edges.
