vert top fold marks on 2011

My top seems to have some shiney marks at the rear window and back window. They dont seem to be ware spots. Went by the service drive and they said it was normal and called them folld marks. Any one else have this? Are any of you treating the cloth top and if so what product are you using?

The top folds. Naturally it will develop fold marks. The best thing is to never put it up and you won't see the marks.

The top is fabric and very expensive to replace. Keep the top clean, use the protectant 2x-a-year and avoid harsh cleaners.

You can see how well it works when water beads up and rolls off the top. Apply another dose when you lose the beading action.

The top is down most of the time living in Socal. Your advice is a great idea.

Just to be sure you don't have wear spots , post some photos. I had my top replaced for that reason. Have you seen the wear spots thread already?

Also, I recommend leaving top closed overnight. Good luck, I hope that the 2011s do not suffer from the wear spots that the 2009s have had.

I did see the posts on wear spots. My spots dont show any fabric break down at this time but i will keep an eye on them.

I live in Ohio and except for winter I hardly ever put the top up. I even leave it down during a light rain, I just don't stop. And I have to admit I don't use anything special on my top. I even go through no-touch car washes. The way I look at it, it's a car. I drive it for pleasure.

I like what one member has in his signature, "I'm not in a hurry, I just like to drive fast."

So I drive fast. Of course I never exceed the speed limit...at least not the speed limit on the Autobahn. And I take the corners fast and I rev to the red line all the time and just have a blast with my MINI. I know that if I baby it and take the best care of the paint and top it won't be worth much more when I trade or sell than if I just take normal care. I may be paranoid in some areas, but this is just a car.
