I have had the dreaded "Cold Start Rattle" 8-10 times during the year I have had my MINI. So...when I took it in for its one year service, I told them about it. It hadn't happened in a couple weeks so I expected it wouldn't happen for them. But, the next morning when they started it, they heard it. They replaced the timing chain tensioner among all the other things they did.

So Kudos to Cincinnati Mini - great job guys, I really appreciate it. Now I wait and hope this fixed it.

Congratulations To you, i am glad to hear that you got the service you And your Car needed. I haven't had the cold start rattle happen more than twice. You think it would happen again? Hope not, it's a year old now and the rattle happened during the 1st cold snap of winter.
