What are the differences? I only know of one - the auto window up feature. Is the interior the same?

Since you're posting in the convertible section, the answer is pretty much everything.

The 2009 is the complete refresh of the Convertible, based on the new turbo charged engine, ever so slightly larger interior, larger rear window, newer GPS, HD Radio with RTTI, Power Folder rear view windows, non visible boot hinges, convenience entry/start, Openometer (everyone's favourite), updated center stack, and a slightly more expensive base price and package prices, etc... (just to name a few). There are many differences between the previous generation and this latest generation.

Also, there is no auto window one-touch up feature in the 2009 convertible, however there is an auto window one-touch down.

Probably, it's hard to make a deal with MINI, let alone on a 1st model year car.

While many have custom ordered their Mini, some dealer do have 09 Convertibles (S and non S, I haven't seen a JCW version on the lot yet), and I betcha if it's been there since the March 28th launch, they may be willing to deal but not much. Maybe throw in a few accessories I would guess.

One difference.. MUCH better mileage. I got 300 miles out of one tank, and I had two more notches left...

I averaged 32 MPG on my first tank. Approx 80% city / 20% Highway

We just upgraded

We just traded in our 08 Mini Sparkling Silver Cabrio with a CVT for an 09 HzB S Cabrio with automatic. What a difference. The fit and finish is not as good on the 09 as the 08 but the drive is much better and the Type II and Automatic is great. More seat room, great engine and I love the true automatic.

Visibility is a HUGE improvement over the older models. I test drove a bunch of them, and the roll bars in the back seat make rear visibility HORRIBLE.

The 09 has the sunken roll bars, which improves your sightlines exponentially.
