I special ordered mine & paid exactly MSRP, just what it said on miniusa.com for the Cabrio S after I added my options of the winter package, DSC, two-toned leather/cloth seats and panels, bluetooth and ipod adapter. No extra charges, nor any special bonuses either........

It's like the difference between an R53 and R56. Physically just about everything has changed, starting with the fundamentals: engine, steering, clutch, suspension, etc. making for a different driving experience between 1st and 2nd gen MINI. However I think the top-down "cabrio experience" may be similar except for the new rollbars.

Awesome!

Congratulations. Looks like a great ride and just in time for what will hopefully be a tremendous season of topless Motoring!

Thanks for posting the pics!

I paid MSRP for mine. Actually it was kinda nice not spending hours haggling over the price like I have on other cars, although if it would have gotten me a better deal I would have haggled. I configured the car on MiniUSA.com and took it to the dealer and the only changes were labor for dealer installed options.

I have a thread in another section asking about the differences. The more the better so I can justify getting a 2009.

Thanks for the pricing info everyone. I have resigned myself to the fact I will have to cough up $12K to $15K to get the 2009.

Oh well, it's worth it. IMHO there's no car like the MINI convertible. E.g., I enjoy EVERY TIME I get in the car.

Even my trip to Los Angeles and back was a blast. Not many cars that can make a trip on Interstate 5 a fun thing to do.

My Mini finally arrived and I picked it up tonight. It's going to be hard not to speed. Yikes just driving home was difficult. I was told that I shouldn't use the cruise control till after break in period. Ouch! Thats what keeps me out of trouble. Can't wait for the weekend to get some serious time behind the wheel.

Mine, unfortunately, is stuck in wrong wheel hell, so it's always "any day now". Like nuclear fusion power, which has been 50 years away for the past 50 years.

I'm sorry NotPortly, I know it will be here soon. I read that they have been released correct? So hopefully within the week. You will be so happy. I went on the waiting list Nov 2007, Put my deposit down Oct 31, 2008. Ordered Jan 17, 2009 and finally got it yesterday. It was particularly hard when the east coast people were on later ships and still received theirs before me. But it is totally worth the wait. You will love it.

It's really frustrating for me because people are now getting cars on later ships ahead of me. My car is 20 miles away, and still probably several weeks away from delivery. Now, don't ask me why it would take that long to replace the wheels, but it's been 3 weeks since they discovered the problem and nothing has been done.

Yeah I'd be mad too. What is your MA doing? Can you pick it up at the port after VDC is done with it since you are so close? I hope that they take care of you in "other" ways like in free stuff even if its not the dealers fault it is still the vehicle they sold you and they will be making a profit off of you. I got free floor mats when I picked mine up yesterday. Not much but I was excited to get something for free. Good luck!
