Yes... it's true... and, it's not really a day later than we thought it would be, because this is the originally scheduled date, right? ?

They started unloading at 8am, but it appears that we are not off the boat yet (according to WW)...

only a few more days.

Yea, how long is the normal wait time after it's off the boat. I'm in Houston coming from Charleston. I guess it comes via train or trailer?

 

From the dock Via train to the VDC, then by truck to the dealer I think. Although depending on how far in land you are they may have it on a train longer.

 

hey gang -- now that there's nothing left to track online, let's make sure to keep this thread going with pics once folks take delivery. mine will take a while -- i'm up in Seattle and my dealer is in Nashville. (what can i say --- waiting 6-10 mos was not really an option!!) i bought my R53 from MINI of Nashville, shipped it covered to Seattle, got my car in 2 mos ... and had great experience. this one will be about the same length of time.

i'm still debating flying out there to pick it up, but i'll probably ship it at least part of the way. probably won't have her in my hands for about a month! so let's see your cars when you get 'em!!

I'd be glad to post pics and will make sure I do so when I get the car. The prob. now is the wait. I have absolutely no idea when the car will make it to the dealer so the wait is killing me!

I will post as soon as I take delivery. It sounds like bringing your MINI home will be a bit of a journey, which you will probably enjoy if you drive part of the way. Best of luck!

 

Hey, Just got an email from my MA , my Mini CR/ W should be there tomorrow or so ( dealership about 15 miles away), Maybe I can pick it up this weekend.( WHOOPEE- RA RA- GO MAN GO.) OH My Gosh Now They Are going To Need Money $$$$$. Never thought of that. Oh well let me check the Piggy Bank. Will post pictures when I figure out how to do it. (that is post the pictures). Ha HA

 

Congrats!!!!!! Very exciting...even if it does require some $$$, but don't worry the first payment won't be for a while. Where in Florida are you??? I'm tempted to call my MA and see what's up w/ mine.

Yeah mine was on the Freedom. No dealer options, and I thought the stripes were installed at the factory??? I just e-mailed Leon; if I don't hear from him, I will call tomorrow. If it's not coming in at the same time it makes me worry about any damage during transport...I'll try to keep that out of my mind though b/c it is a scary thought, lol.

No stripes are installed at factory, Thats for sure.!! I believe stripes are put on at the VDC .

 

Thanks for the clarification. So it's either VDC or dealer; I guess either would cause a minor delay. Oh well...I will try to concentrate on other things while I wait.

 

I scheduled my pick-up for Monday... it appears to have already made it to my dealer from the VDC, as they said it was "cute," but maybe they're just guessing.

I got stripes too, but no delay there, maybe there just wasn't enough room on your truck for everyone. My dealer had 18 new MINIs come on the truck this week, whew. 18!

 

For those guys, tripes are installed in 15 min, so we should all see our cars in 2-4 days

i'm still 'en route' as well. but i've already gotten the call from my MA to pay them & figure out accessories. they quoted me $600 for the iPod install -- does that seem about average or too high? i have this nagging feeling that if i DON'T get the adapter (and just use the AUX), i'll regret it. grrrr....
