What about carrying a donut instead of a fix-in-a-can? I realize I'd have to figure out how to hold it back there so it doesn't roll around in the twisties (any ideas?), but wouldn't it be safer than the other? I'm one of the lucky ones with a jack (thanks, MA), so that's not an issue.
One of my Benz's had a small blow-up spare and a compressor that ran off the cigarette lighter. I wonder if there is something like that available after market for the MINI??
Real-live experience: I had a slow leak in one of my run flats yesterday. Filled w/ air, and started off for my MINI dealer 25 miles away. 4 miles out the "tire caution" light came on, and it was an OK drive at 50 mph to the dealer. I left it and got a loaner MINI. They called a bit ago to say it's fixed, and it'll be a $65. charge. Ugh!
Nope, I'm one of them "If I need additional warranties, why am I buying this thing in the first place?" kind of guys. $65. later, I know. At least they gave me a free MINI rental, and I'll REALLY appreciate mine when I get it back since the rental is an automatic non-S from 2006.
