Friendly Waving

I've already waved to 4 R53 owners and have had positive waves back. I also got one flash of the headlights... I'm going to do my best to acknowledge and wave at all Bay Area Mini owners.

Heck, I do not have my Cooper yet, but I have been waving. Got a return from a new Pepper White yesterday. She was a cutie! And the car was not bad either.

I know I should not be waving until I get mu Mini, but I am so dang excited. I cannot help myself. I figure it will be good kharma.

Congrats on the new ride!! There are times when I'm driving my other car, that i forget and wave at other Minis and a lot of the times i get a friendly wave back.I also have an old Corvette and do a lot of waving to other vettes. I think the Corvette people started the wave thing and caught on to other makes.

Yes, you can flash with the Xenons, but doesn't that put a lot of wear and tear on the igniters?

I think waving started back in the 80s with the Benz.... the 1880s that is.

We had a Triumph in the 1970s, and other Triumph owners always waved. So you're right, it probably goes way back.

Goes back at least as far as the 50's--Porsche owners used to wave. Hubby says back then ALL sports cars waved to each other, regardless of marque. Must have been a friendly (and lonely) time.

Now that they're back on the road, drivers of restored 356s wave to each other--on the rare occasions that they meet. Heck, in some areas they turn around and track each other down!
