question about seats
With different fobs, do the seats automatically adjust to different setting saved on different fobs? If they do, do they only work with the comfort access, or another addon?
American Heritage Dictionary - Cite This Source fob 1 (fŏb) n.
- A small pocket at the front waistline of a man's trousers or in the front of a vest, used especially to hold a watch.
-
- A short chain or ribbon attached to a pocket watch and worn hanging in front of the vest or waist.
- An ornament or seal attached to such a chain or ribbon.
Not true. My 05 mcs has manual seats, but when you move them to let a passenger in the back, when pushing the seat back into position it will go back into the setting it was at before moving it. Some sort of mechanical memory, I guess, but the seat does end up back in the same position it was.

if someone changes the position of your seats they will not retain their "memory." but you are correct, MINI seats have a "memory" of sorts when moving the seats into the "forward" position...
rattles
Anyone have annoying rattles coming from the driver's seat? It seems that if I adjust the seat height to a higher position, it helps a bit when I accelerate in 1st, but will still rattle during turns. Anyone know??
It does not work if you put the back of the seat up first.. you have to slide the bottom back while the seat is still forward.. and then tilt it back to sitting position...
Not sure if you tried that, or not. But I noticed that in my car. 2004 MC

Thanks, Xiek. What would happen is, I would slide the bottom back to its original spot first, but it would slide all the way to the front. Isn't it supposed to stop where it was before? Then I would tilt the back to the sitting position. And then I'd have to slide the bottom back to it's original spot.

When you're returning the seat to its "saved" position, it will not actually latch in place until you raise the seatback to the upright position. Until you raise the seatback to lock everything back in place, the seat base will still be able to slide forward and backward on the rails.
Here are the steps, starting with the seat in the normal driving position:
1) Press lever on the side of the seat, tilt seatback forward and slide seat base forward. This will give you better access to the back seat.
2) When you're ready to return the seat to the normal driving position, slide the seat base backward until it stops, then press the upper part of the seat toward the rear of the car until it stops.
3) At this point, both the seat bottom and the seat back should be in the normal driving position, and latched securely in place.
