Yea, I'm strongly considering the Joey mod in the nearby future. I've opened up headlights before (through the oven) but my friend has a heat gun so hopefully it'll be pretty straight forward.

Removing the amber was a piece of cake! Took me 20 minutes to do! I was doing it while I was waiting for my grill to dry. Here's the DIY:

Thanks Chanksta So you just took them out? ahhhhh ok cool. I thought you found a clear lens vs. not having one. Oh and the heat gun is a good way to go. It's pretty easy once you get them apart. Taping is pretty much the hardest part to the Joey mod.
Yup, just took them out and they're super clean.
Yea it's illegal in most places, I think here in CA as well. But there are so many damn rice rockets that do it, I don't think a mini cooper will make too much difference lol
I went with the silverstar 750ast even though I had the white lenses to start with. Here is a link where I purchased mine about a year ago,

PY21W is the type of bulb required. I had mine shipped from England.

car looks good
Here is a slightly different picture of my R56. With a 3 month trip with the Navy and my better half driving my car I decided that I should check on the contents of my new second generation BSH catch can. Located just outboard of the coolant tank.

When I installed this catch can I also installed the dual port plug and recorded the milage. Now with just over 32,000 miles total and 897 since install here is the results

BSH will tell you that for more money they could make a product that looks better, however when it works why mess with perfection. I got my dual port plug and catch can from Custom Mini Shop and the install was easy. Taking less then 20 minutes total for both parts. I plan on checking this again after I get back as it will only be driven once or twice a week as she really enjoys her cabrio better
