took a quick drive of the new mcs today. mellow yellow with black roof and mirrors. only options were the sport package (no roof, Cruise, heated seats, leather, etc). standard checkered interior.

liked it alot. the seat cushions feel better. radio controls and hvac unnecessarily complicated. yeah its a bit quieter and more composed...so what?

power is very nice with decent linear delivery, even from down low (2-3ooo rpms). much of what i would expect from bmw. lag? not that i could detect. some torque steer, but when you are stomping on it through some twisties in 2 or 3rd gear, you have to hold the steering wheel pretty tight anyway. no, its not an 335i or an m3, but it has plenty of power, and slightly lighter than prevoius model, and rated at 36 MPG...seems good to me.

i would love to trade my 06 MC toward the mellow yellow demo (with 96 miles on it). but i am waiting to trade on a clubman turbo

i think the mcs dominate sales of the new model, maybe 70% MCS, 30%MC in the U.S.
