From what I was told the new wood steering wheel is "back in production" so newly produced cars will have them, but they still haven't created a retrofit yet. They are "currently exploring a retrofit" is the answer I got.

Honestly, It makes me angry that people can get new cars with one, but I still can't get one. Although, I can't imagine a retrofit would be hard now that they have a steering wheel that passes the regulations.

I believe that retrofiting a wheel should be easy for the dealer since they already retrofit a number of different wheels. I hope that MINI will give us the wooden wheel?

Last week no wood now that's been reveresed. Good, now we can look forward to a retrofit sometime in the near future. Thanks MINI.
