I've configured my Cooper four or five different times and I can't get it over $21K. I'm fine with that, btw.

Are ya offering?

Honestly, the dealership seems decent. They don't upcharge over MSRP, and they seem to have fair prices on their dealer installed-options as far as installation goes. That being said, I will probably trade my Honda in to a 3rd party dealership or sell it outright, as I don't expect to get the best price from them for it.

Additionally, the next closest dealership in about 2 hours away, and I'd like to have a sales relationship with the place I get the car serviced. I am HOPING that since I've dropped a fair amount of bank there, some of the options I am getting "installed" will be free. How much can it take to put on the rear bumper protection, for example? Yet, there is an installation cost.

Jmelrose,
Well, i dont have anything to offer....but i can say that a month and a half or so ago, i was emailing local Southern California dealers with a spec that was right around 30k. Very little of the price was due to Step 5 (floormats, cover, interior cover, and BUMPER PROTECTION.) at my request, they agreed to the installation of the bumper protection for just the price of the part.
This bumper protection that I am referring to is the $40 something black plastic that sticks to the top edge of the rear bumper.
This offer was for the vehicle at MSRP, conditional on my placing the order with them quite a while ago. (ie i am not sure if that offer still stands!)

I would think that with your car so heavily configured with dealer options that they really ought to to be throwing you a bone or two.

But, I do understand where you are coming from on the dealership distances. mine is 30-40 mins away and i am not sure how long it would take to get to the next one. maybe a hour 15 or so....

Mine comes out to $32,120 with everything that i would want. This does NOT include items from Step 5.
Since i want both cloth and rubber mats, the rear bumper protection, black side view mirror caps, and an outdoor car cover, i guess my price will really go up from there.

how generous of them!

At least if THEY put it on crooked they have to buy you a new one.

I think I became friends with my MA. He took off $100 for the white turn signal incident and threw in free rubber floor mats:front and back, and glove box organizer. He also said he's going to give me a discount on parts such as driving lamps. My MA is awesome
