24 hour roadside assistance program

How good is Mini's 24 hour roadside assistance program? I read in some forum that it took about 2 hours before a tow truck arrived to assist a Mini driver. Has anyone had good or bad experience with their roadside assistance program? Is it comparable to AAA's roadside assistance program?

I have had only one opportunity to use the road side service.

Response time was less than 30 minutes and that's about as good as it gets from towing companies.

Remember this is not MINI USA coming to get you, but just a company they have contracted to do the job.

Contract towing companies are good and bad, plus a lot would depend on where you were at the time.

My battery went dead & the guy was there in 20 minutes but who knows if they had called a different guy it coulda taken forever. As has already been said it's not Mini Roadside that determines how long but the person they call.

F.Y.I...I just looked on my card & it says Mini Roadside services are provided thru AAA so I guess that answers that ehh

It's only as good as AAA is in your area. They call AAA to come to your rescue.

don't cancel it if you use it for vacation stuff. It's only the roadside assistance portion you get.

I suppose I haven't taken advantage of the AAA plan. The only thing I ever used it for was getting reduced rates quotes at hotels (and none ever checked my car or asked for a number so I could have gotten the same rate anyway and the occasional map so the annual 50 or so dollars has gotten me some mighty expensive maps. I'll be dropping it.
