Just wondering if the next generation MINI will have an altogether different window motor, or will it be the same crappy one? After numerous replacements I sure hope they've come up with something better.

 

After a couple replacements, I'd tend to agree with you, however... I believe that they use the same "flawed" design on many of their BMW's so.. until they make changes systemwide, I doubt any will be forthcoming.. That said, I haven't paid attention to such improvements on the BMW front.

After my second window motor failure, I asked my service rep about the motor replacement and I can't remember if she gave an exact number, but I do remember that at their shop they replaced several a week.

 

yeah right dont hold your breath-- bmw's been using the same subcontractor for their sketchy window mechanisms for decades....
