not a fan of the new design. they made it uglier rather than improving on the already existing lines of the car. the interior is just plain ugly now also. i bet it is a better driving car though, and that key is just plain cool as hell

I'm with most people I plan on keepig my 06 JCW for a while. I have logical reasons like most people why I like or dis like the new car.

1. can't upgrade the radio without a A$$ load of work, by the way did any even see the slot for the cd.

2.I've been around tuned imports for a while and I know that
alunimum block + turbo = bad things with out reinforcement. Like changing the sleaves or block guards.

3. I'd pefere the key fob in pocket tequnique that put the big chunk of key into the UFO shaped hole in the dash is just a lil retarded.

4.The non funtional scoop with the hugh bulg.

There are some good points to like the tecnology that the new motor has like VVT and DOHC, but it still an aluminum block. The back bumper looks nice to me. I just don't think the new cars worth it yet. Even though the power to be had from a properly built turbo motor is amazing.

At first I thought the lip on the C pillar was just part of the camo. Maybe it'll alleviate the diry boot syndrome.

I'm kinda disapointed with the honeycomb upper grill. They should've just left it for the aero kit cars.

The only way to keep the boot clean is to direct a constant flow of air over it.

One nice touch that features as part of the optional "illumination pack" is the ability (via one of the overhead toggle switches) to change the dash and ambient lighting colours from Orange to Blue, and various colours in between.
Yes...this I like. Aside from the fact that my first car was a '69 Mustang, I very nearly decided on a 2005 Mustang GT a while back because of this type of feature. I'm liking what I see more and more. Moving the radio was a brilliant ergonomic move, as where it is, it's a pain as a passenger to use it.

"Fuel consumption is reduced by up to 20percent; Sonntag promises "best-in-class efficiency of less than 6 litres per 100 km" (over 47mpg)."

What!?

These impressions from around the internet sure brighten my impressions of the new MINI. The fuel consumption rating is very good news, as is the uprated interior. I'd still be weary about buying a year 1 car though, which means I'd have to wait until 2008.

Crud.

Not only do I want one, I'd like to have the very first one available. There just isn't any way that worrying about some problem I might or might not have would keep me from getting one.

On the other hand...not being able to afford an 07' will keep me from getting one.

I'm looking at these photos and i'm thinking of how tired I am of black plastic wheel arches - these cars are expensive enough - give us some nice (flared) metal wheel arches already - please...the car has enough plastic already. And I'll reserve my complete judgment util I see it in person...most cars in stock form don't take very good pictures anyway. But the interior is looking a bit to retro for my liking...again, I'll wait till I see it in person for my final word.

As the pictures of the '07 get better, I find myself liking it more and more! I've withheld comment on any of these threads until now, knowing that MINI would never screw up a good thing!

The best part about the '07 will be the new direct injection turbo engine. BMW is putting a DI bi-turbo into the '07 3 series too.

More power, less weight, better feul economy. A perfect formula.

As for the rest of the changes, well I just ordered an '06. I personally prefer the charm and ergonomic imperfections of the current interior. Also, the current exterior is just right.

Please MINI make a dial based manual a/c available at no charge like we get standard in the current MINI.

I'll live with it, but I don't get why MINI is so fixated on making the AC controls look like a MINI logo. It's cute....but not beyond that.

btw, what's that **** above the AC?? It'd better be something good.

I have mixed feelings on the interior.. But that fake hood scoop kills me. In the long run though, it could be good... Would make a nice spot for a CAI. I also noticed the lack of an intercooler.. I just hope there is room for a FMIC when the tuners start putting bigger turbos on them. THe engine seems like it has potential for a lot more power than the current one. Only time will tell though!

This crap is straight out of a Walt Disney cartoon. What kind of rip off bs is this?

And is that what MINI has learned about us from the first gen model??? That we are a bunch of EFFING CLOWNS??????!!
