I second that!

I think the interior looks good for the most part. A nice update of the current version.

The wood is silly to me, and I think the gray buttons and controls look like a cheap stereo. My biggest wish would be a dash with vents in places where the air would blow somewhere other than on the back of the driver's hands. The second version of the speedo looks cool (the one without the wave of radio frequencies).

What's the joystick behind the shifter for? I hope it's for some sort of MINI version of iDrive! I can't wait to hear the complaints about that!

If you add long, slender vertical tail lights, it will look just like a 68 Cadillac. Sweet!

Door lock?I don't see one in the normal place. The outside sheet metal still looks rough. But the cockpit does not turn me off.

You never know! Just reading the posts on this thread, some like things, some don't. No matter what, the MINI designers will take some features to production, some not to production. What, we will not know for sure until it comes out. Change is hard. People in general don't like change. But there are new people out there that haven't had our MINI's and will prefer the new over our old.

By the time the 07's come out,I should have 100,000 miles on mine. Not the first time for me to own a car with that many miles on it.
Depending on how my MINI is holding out,I would not have a problem with buying an 07-08.

The suicide door image is fake.

Look very closely at the space inside the "rear passenger area", you'll see that the inside of the front door is copied in the back.

Also, the hood has 2 cowls in front of the windshield, the windshield wipers are exposed, and the headlights are exactly as they are on the '04's. I think that's even a Cooper non-chromed '04 bumper in the rear.

Furthermore, the suicide door's reflection is EXACTLY THE SAME as the quarter-windows reflection, even though they are at vastly disparate angles.

AND, not enough attention was paid to where the doors meet. The front door would either have a large gap at the suicide door or crunch the metal. One is beveled, one is not.

Come on! Quit wasting time with fakes. It's insulting.

Dude, chill....everyone knows its a fake...these are all just concepts, and that happens to be the concept for the wagon version, not the 2007 version. It's not meant to be a real image, but rather an image depicting what one COULD look like

Well, that's fine, but where did this notion of suicide doors come from? I've never seen that in any of the Motoring File articles. Did I miss it? If I didn't, and it was never there, then why are we being subjected to this image? Help me out here!

That's my 2-cents.
i second that. i got to say, im not too thrilled about that body style..

he's been recently transferred to head up all of fiat design, so maybe he would be more willing to come back now that he's no longer at ferrari. then again, maybe he wants to have the chance to reshape all those fiats.......into mini look a likes!

something needs to be done, since the bozos that took over at bmw / mini seem bent on ruining the spectacular good looks of the mini (and the whole rest of the bmw line)

I like the way they have made all the BMW cars look female. The 5 and 3 series look like they got big lady eyelashes.

If the current style of the MINI never saw the light of day,and the 07 was the look of the new MINI back in 02,I wonder if folks would have stayed away.
And remember, alot of the front end changes are coming about because of laws to that are supposted to not hurt pedestrians as bad.I have said this before,I don't see how punching the pedestrian down the road is better than flipping them up onto the bonnet, and letting them come to rest against our known soft windshields. If you don't like the laws, move to the country of your choice in Europe, and vote against them.
