Is my turbo working?

2012 JCW. I've got no warning lights, but I just realized I'm not getting the acceleration that I think I used to. I could be imagining it. I don't hear the swoosh/whistle from the turbo like I thought I used to - or it's not nearly as noticeable as it used to be.

What can I do to confirm the sucker is sucking?

If you have an ODBII Bluetooth device, connect it and use an app Like Torque Pro or whatever flavor you prefer to display boost. That would be the quickest easiest that I can think of.

Did you connect it and find out anything?

Being it is a 2012 JCW, you have the N14 engine. How many miles are on it? I have read many threads that refer to loss of power due to the valves needing walnut blasted. Perhaps that is your issue.

Not yet. I've got the blue driver bluetooth and it' doesn't do boost. Looking online, it looks like I can do MAP and ambient pressure and get those readings. What am I looking for on the readings?

I don't think it's the valves, I had the engine apart about a year or two ago and all was well.

Subtract the two pressures = boost. When hammering on it boost should be somewhere between 12 and 18 lbs

I am not sure if the free version of Torque displays boost or not. Might try that.

The blue driver is just the ODBII Bluetooth device. Torque uses about any BT device. Try it with the free version to verify.
