Help Engine change !!!!
I’m wondering if anyone can give me some advice , i have a 2013 mini oned , 1.6 90.000Kms.
N47C16A Engine
It’s had some issues as we only do short drives , last year it had the turbo changed and injectors , i am now told that then engine should of been decarbonised but it wasn’t.
About 3 weeks ago the particle filter warning light came on , and maybe wrongly we though with a couple of long journeys it would sort itself. One day just as we arrived home we could hear a rattle , and the next time we used the car we drove about 3 kms with the rattle and could also hear as if loose gravel around somewhere , then oil light came on and we stopped the car and the following day it was towed to garage.
Quite a large garage that over the phone told me they would take the car then when towtruck got there they said they didn’t want to take the car , as i didn’t really know what to do as towtruck was there with car i managed to get them to take the car to run diagnosis. Next day i received a quote for changing the engine and other things but no mention of particle filter . As repair was just under what car cost new we got the car towed home . They said we had to pay a bill for diagnostic which was fine but i asked for a copy , then they said there was nothing to be paid . so at this time i am not 100% sure if they did the diagnostic, they said is showed low engine compression , i asked for copy as if we were going to trade car in they wanted it in car dealers but no copy available.
At home we have done a home diagnostic and have the error codes

I do have someone will to fit engine for me if i can find one , but at this time i’m not 100% sure what to do , we can do the home diagnostic just putting key in ignition as it will not start should all errors show up there . Also i live on a island so Mini garages are limited and very expensive.
