Hi,

New to the forum. I have a question and struggling to get an answer. I am from the UK, not sure it matters or not but the issue is with my key fob slot. Basically its coming apart quite literally, I think whoever had the car before just yanked the key out the slot but I am having a few electrical issues with it either not slotting in properly or not realising its been taken out.

It's a 2007 R56 Mini Cooper

So I can get a second hand key fob slot, like the one here but used : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182697034089

My question is does that need to be coded to the car at all or can I just swap it over with the one in the car and everything will work normally?

Ah thats good to know. I tried asking a few people selling them and they said they needed to be coded but a couple of forum posts seemed to indicate they didn't. Got a bit confusing in the end to be honest.

So no coding needed! Good news, will go ahead and order one.
