Should i change the turbo before the stage 1 ?

Hello guys, i have an MCS R56 2009 with the N14 and almost Always at Cold Start the turbo does a rattle sound i have a CTS intake kit ready for the car and an exhaust and i want to go to give it a stage 1 what do you guys think about this problem should i change the turbo (a quick thing when the car is at normal temp it dosen't make the sound and it pulls great so any ideas on what should i do ?)

Are you sure it’s the turbo making the rattle and not the timing chain? The N14 timing chain is know for cold start rattles when getting worn out.

That friction wheel is also known for making those weird noise's .........

Yeah i checked it and it is from the turbo

Definitely change the turbo first. General rule of thumb is to get the car operating normally before apply any ECU tune. If the car is not functioning correctly, the tune will just make it worse, and you'll have a more difficult time trying to diagnose.

I swapped the turbo on my mini before tuning. Mine has 154k on it and the wastegate had a lot of play. You can adjust it (see pic below) but mine had side-to-side play where the wastegate enters the outlet housing. If can be fixed but after watching the insanely hard videos I opted to just replace it with a new one. Good luck and happy tuning!
